Job DescriptionSenior Job Coach to join our Staten Island program
. In this role, you will support workers with disabilities in achieving success in their jobs, while also orienting new staff and participating in pre‑employment activities as needed.
Location: Staten Island 10301
Salary: $22-$23 (depending on educational level)
Schedule: Typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with flexibility required as needed, including early mornings, late evenings, and/or weekends.
Responsibilities- Provide training, evaluation, and counseling to workers with disabilities in various job settings, primarily in the field (90% of time spent at job sites).
- Supervise and train new staff to ensure effective job coaching practices.
- Serve as a liaison with employers, co‑workers, and other stakeholders to ensure a positive work experience.
- Travel to route new workers from home to job sites.
- Model appropriate work behaviors, including social and communication skills.
- Deliver person‑centered training and support tailored to individual needs.
- Initially work closely with new employees on job sites, gradually reducing support as they gain proficiency.
- Maintain a flexible schedule, adapting to changing needs with minimal notice.
- Cover other job sites and caseloads as needed, including potential travel to other boroughs.
- Write detailed service notes after each session to monitor client progress and outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in education, human services, or counseling preferred.
- One year of experience as a Job Coach, or two years of supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the employment field.
- Supervising staff experience required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and needs.
- Strong computer skills a plus.
- Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Valid NY State driver’s license and the ability to drive a van preferred.
