US is seeking a Housing Specialist for its men’s shelter in Brooklyn, located at Blake Avenue
, Brooklyn, NY 11208.
- Salary:
USD $54,995.20 –
USD $58,435.00
/yr.
The Housing Specialist will establish linkages and maintain solid working relationships with supportive housing providers, real‑estate brokers, managing agents, and landlords as a resource for consumers. The role includes providing supportive social services such as individual and group counseling, workshops, education, referrals, and escorting to help consumers prepare for successfully securing and maintaining permanent housing. The specialist will also prepare and assist consumers with the housing application and interview process.
Qualifications- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years in a human services field with knowledge of trauma.
- Good interpersonal skills, able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Solid computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking preferred.
