Clove Lakes Health Care and Rehabilitation Center is a 576-bed Skilled Nursing Facility located in the heart of Staten Island. Our mission is to serve the residents with high-quality, affordable and accessible health services.

- Develop, plan, and oversee culturally appropriate programs that meet the social, emotional, cognitive, and recreational needs of Chinese-speaking residents.
- Design a monthly calendar of activities incorporating Chinese traditions, holidays, arts, music, movement, and community events.
- Ensure activities align with resident care plans, regulatory requirements, and facility goals.
- Integrate Chinese cultural elements into daily programming, such as calligraphy, tai chi, traditional music, storytelling, festivals, and language-based activities.
- Coordinate observances of major Chinese holidays (Lunar New Year, Mid‑Autumn Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Qingming, etc.).
- Source culturally relevant materials, decorations, and entertainment.
- Conduct assessments to determine residents’ interests, abilities, and cultural backgrounds, including Mandarin and Cantonese language preferences.
- Adapt activities for residents with physical or cognitive limitations, including dementia-friendly programming.
- Encourage resident participation and track engagement levels to improve offerings.
- Build and maintain relationships with local Chinese community organizations, cultural groups, schools, and volunteers.
- Organize intergenerational programs, guest performers, and educational workshops.
- Communicate with families to gather feedback, address concerns, and support culturally aligned care.
- Train activity staff and other facility departments on culturally responsive practices.
- Provide guidance on culturally appropriate communication, holiday observances, and resident preferences.
- Coordinate with nursing, dietary, social services, and rehabilitation teams to integrate culture into whole‑person care.
