Facilities Technician, New York City AreaUOVO seeks a Facilities Technician to join its dynamic and growing team. The Facilities Technician is responsible for completing general work requests associated with the day‑to‑day maintenance of the facility under the supervision of the Facilities Engineer Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a Facilities technician and strong technical knowledge as well as an understanding of workplace and personal safety on the job.
CoreResponsibilities
- Preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment as well as troubleshooting and repairs for various equipment
- Ensure operation of mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions
- In conjunction with the Facilities Manager, assess extraordinary maintenance required for the property, i.e., replacing guttering, parking lot repairs, repairing outside lighting, perimeter fence, landscaping, carpets, and painting in staff/client common areas
- Communicate with the wider business regarding any facilities‑related work scheduled to take place that may impede operations
- Perform daily walk‑throughs of the facility to check mechanical, switch gear, fire pump rooms, roof drains, general building conditions, and report back any issues found
- General maintenance around the facility, including but not limited to replacing light bulbs, fixing doors, painting, clearing roof drains, salting the perimeter of the building, and replacing batteries on hands‑free faucets
- Escorting vendors as needed throughout the building to perform various jobs or to complete special projects, such as racking and room build‑outs for clients
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing various projects around the facility alongside the Facilities Manager
- Other projects as assigned by Manager
- On occasion, travel to other sites to assist local Facilities team with projects, coverage or repairs
- Respond to any facilities emergencies with haste
- Team player, able to work in a dynamic environment
- Experience working with a BMS, fire alarm, and security system preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience or related training
- HVAC or Journeymen license and certification are preferred
- Basic understanding of Electricity
- Must be able to work in an office setting, including writing short correspondence, memos, service requests, etc., as well as converse with clients, co‑workers, and vendors in a professional manner
- Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
- Occasional nights and weekends as well as flexible scheduling
- On‑call availability
- Willingness to learn all aspects of building trades i.e. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, General Construction etc.
This in‑person position requires on‑site presence at UOVO’s facility five days a week with a predetermined schedule.
