Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: New York

I work as an HVAC service technician and am responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning and refrigeration systems. My goal is to ensure a reliable and stable indoor climate in residential, office, and industrial buildings, as well as in data centers and server rooms.

My daily tasks include installing new air conditioning systems and connecting piping and electrical components. I adjust and configure the systems, test their functionality, and make sure they operate properly. Especially in data centers and server rooms, precise cooling is essential to ensure the safe operation of sensitive IT systems. In addition, I carry out regular maintenance work, check refrigerant levels, clean filters, and inspect individual components.

If a malfunction occurs, I analyze the cause of the fault and rectify it professionally.

My work requires technical understanding, manual skills, and knowledge of electrical engineering, mechanics, and control technology. As modern HVAC and refrigeration systems are becoming increasingly energy-efficient and digital, I also work with measurement and control technology as well as electronic diagnostic equipment. I always comply with environmental and safety regulations, particularly when handling refrigerants.

Since I often work directly on site at the customer’s premises, a friendly and professional manner is essential. I explain technical issues in a clear and understandable way and work reliably. My job is varied and can be physically demanding, as I work on construction sites, in existing buildings, data centers, or on call.

Overall, I consider the profession of HVAC service technician to be diverse and future-proof. Through further training, for example to become a master craftsman, technician, or specialist in energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC technology, I have excellent career development opportunities.
