Well established, small trucking business is looking for a part time diesel mechanic + handyman.

Trucks are on the road most of the week so only looking for availability for Thursdays, Fridays and especially Saturdays.

Roughly 20/25 hours per week.

Experience on diesel engines and automotive electrical systems is needed, along with basic building handyman skills.

Accreditation not required.

Starting offer of $18/Hour but can be higher based on experience.

* We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our team. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with automotive and heavy equipment repairs, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse machinery including farm equipment, industrial machinery, and vehicle fleets, ensuring optimal performance and safety.

* Responsibilities
* * Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, wiring harnesses and other heavy equipment components.

* Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and alignment adjustments.

* Fabricate parts or modify equipment as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques.

* Operate heavy machinery relative to large engine repairs; (ex: cranes, vehicle lifts, tractors, and trailer trucks for testing or repair purposes.)

* Maintain logbook records of repairs performed and parts used for each service task.

* Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.

* Ability to perform basic building repairs and maintenance (carpentry, plumbing and electrical)

* Qualifications
* * Experience as a Diesel Mechanic / Service Technician is preferred over accreditation.

* Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and repairs, as well as vehicle maintenance;
* (ex. transmissions, HVAC systems, shocks & struts, wheel alignments, and welding.)

* Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery.

* Ability to read technical manuals for troubleshooting unfamiliar systems.

* Skill with hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and welding techniques.

* Knowledge of electrical systems related to automotive repair, heavy equipment and basic building. xrlwcon

* Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in various environmental conditions.

Pay:
From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 25.0 per week
