Key Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems and structured cabling systems in commercial environments
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and upgrades on data cabling, voice cabling, and related low-voltage infrastructure
- Troubleshoot low voltage cabling issues, including connectivity problems, terminations, and pathway deficiencies
- Perform cable testing, certification, and documentation for structured cabling and data cabling systems
- Respond to service calls across multiple customer locations and facility types
- Read and interpret service documentation, blueprints, and site drawings
- Replace, repair, and re-terminate damaged or non-compliant low voltage cabling
- Install and service pathways including J-hooks, cable tray, and surface-mounted raceway as needed
- Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and customer sign-offs
- Communicate professionally with customers, site contacts, and internal teams
- Follow all safety standards, customer requirements, and OSHA guidelines
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Service Technician, Low Voltage Technician, or Lead Service Technician
- Strong hands-on background in low-voltage systems, structured cabling, and data cabling
- Experience performing service work, troubleshooting, and corrective repairs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in customer-facing environments
- Working knowledge of BICSI, NEC, and TIA/EIA standards
- Ability to read and interpret prints, drawings, and service documentation
- Comfortable working in ceilings, confined spaces, and active facilities
- Ability to operate ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts (as required)
- Strong communication skills and a professional customer-service mindset
- Must have basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- $25–$30 per hour, based on experience and technical capability
- Steady service-focused work with limited overnight travel
