Title: Automotive and Diesel Mechanic

Location: Dover Plains, NY (serving Dover Union Free School District)

Pay rate: $26.00‑$28.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

As an Automotive and Diesel Mechanic at First Student, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who count on us for a ride to and from school in those classic yellow buses.

• Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions
• Complete work orders
• Assist with mobile emergency services
• Use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot issues and perform necessary repairs

• Experience working with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided)
• Mechanical tool set
• Strong desire to grow and develop skills through ASE testing
• PC skill to log maintenance data and work orders

• No college degree required
• Military experience welcomed
• Return to workforce candidates encouraged
