Position SummaryMetergy is seeking a Field Service Technician to provide technical support to clients across the US. This entry‑level position includes comprehensive training to ensure success. The role requires flexibility, including the ability to travel out of state and respond to service requests during non‑standard work hours.
Duties and Responsibilities- Commission new installations of meters and metering systems
- Coordinate with the data center to verify remote reading capabilities of systems
- Diagnose installation errors and meter defects quickly and accurately
- Determine appropriate actions for improperly installed, damaged, or defective meters
- Provide detailed service reports in the reporting system
- Respond to emergency disconnect/reconnect requests and other service needs outside regular work hours
- From time to time, this position may require overtime hours including being on‑call on weekends
- Maintain a professional demeanor when working with clients, contractors, maintenance staff, property managers, and tenants
- Valid NY Driver's License and good standing with Zipcar
- OSHA 30 and SST 10 certifications
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Exceptional organization and customer service skills
- Hands‑on experience testing and repairing electrical devices or installations
- Ability to use a voltmeter and basic hand tools
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Technical associate degree or equivalent experience in electrical work, electronics塔 repair, or a similar field
- Leadership or project management experience
- Familiarity with software diagnostics and serial communication terminals
