OverviewWe are seeking experienced Structured Cabling Technicians for long-term Amazon buildout projects in New York City. This role focuses heavily on data cabling for large‑scale commercial environments, including installation, termination, and testing of copper and fiber systems. The ideal candidate will have 3‑5 years of commercial cabling experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work in fast‑paced, enterprise‑level settings.
Responsibilities- Install, terminate, and test high‑volume data cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) and fiber optic systems.
- Perform cable routing, dressing, labeling, and documentation according to industry standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and technical drawings for large‑scale buildouts.
- Operate tools and equipment such as punch‑down tools, crimpers, Fluke testers, and OTDR testers.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and Amazon‑specific standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to meet strict deadlines.
- 3‑5 years of experience in commercial structured cabling or low‑voltage installation.
- Strong background in data cabling for enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with EIA/TIA standards and best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various environments (ceilings, crawl spaces).
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Experience with fiber optic splicing and testing.
- Knowledge of network hardware and data center infrastructure (racks, patch panels, cable trays).
- Industry certifications such as BICSI Installer or equivalent.
- Previous experience on Amazon or other large‑scale enterprise buildouts.
Pay range: $25.00 – $30.00/hr
