Transdev in Bronx, NY is seeking an experienced Automotive–Diesel Technician with Small Engine Experience to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our diesel and gas‑powered assets.

- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all vehicle and equipment repair phases, including brakes, suspensions, engines, drive trains, transmissions, and other repairs.
- Provide maintenance, service and repairs to gas, diesel and electric‑powered manufacturers such as John Deere, Toro, Briggs and Stratton, Kubota, Bobcat, Gravely, Perkins and Isuzu engines in a multifaceted shop environment.
- Provide preventative maintenance and repairs to a variety of equipment, including small farm tractors, lawnmowers, ATVs/UTVs, snow removal equipment and towed equipment.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with road calls and emergency services as necessary.
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair employment experience or a combination of technical school education and experience.
- Possess a mechanic’s tool set.
- ASE certifications are preferred; willing to participate in the company ASE certification program (training, testing and bonuses provided).
- Subject to DOT drug testing; compliance with DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40.
- Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions; 100% of the job performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
- Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
- Push and pull objects; lift material weighing up to 50 lb. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
- Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to dust, vehicle fumes, and noise.
