Our team is currently seeking, at our Plant City, FL location, a Crew Leader

The BCI Coatings Division Field Crew Leader is a project leader of a 3‑4 man team that travels to and services holding industrial tanks liners, secondary containment areas, and retention pond liners for utility, refinery, O&G and military entities. Typical jobs will include: travel to the site with a duration of a few days up to several weeks, cleaning and remediation of a pre‑existing structure or holding area and application of an engineered spray coating technology to construct a highly durable liner system.
This role is responsible for overseeing and participating in work of a small crew performing construction, maintenance, and spray applied coatings. The crew leader is required to exercise reasonable initiative and independent judgment in completing work assignments, which are of average difficulty and are performed in accordance with established procedures. Work is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through observation and results obtained.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Front‑line lead employee responsible for performing, as well as leading, training and directing the activities of a crew in the installation and repair of secondary containment applications.
- Monitor team members on site during production activities to ensure compliance with the standards of operations and safety procedures.
- Effectively manage and maintain the equipment for successful completion of each project.
- Continually inspect work performed by crew for quality and specification compliance and ensure completed product meets quality standards before moving to the next area.
- Ensures all workers have proper safety gear and clothing before performing work.
- Analyze and resolve work problems or lead crew members in discovering the resolutions.
- Prepare and submit for review production, safety, time, and other reports, as necessary.
- Extensive traveling for duration of several weeks at a time
Skills and Abilities
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2 – 3 years previous foreman/crew leadership/supervision experience in an outdoor construction environment required. Crew leadership experience is a must, we can/will train in the technical construction process of the spray applied coatings.
- CDL Class A license required.
- Basic computer skills required using Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems in a calm and logical manner.
- Must be able to travel out of town 4‑6 weeks at a time.
- Local residence to the area preferred.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and criminal history background check, as well as driver’s license check for past 36 months without any suspensions or major traffic violations.
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and overhead with proper lifting techniques.
- Walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, bend, reach, kneel, crawl, and stretch.
- Use of hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk and hear without visual cues.
