Our client, with over 40 years in the business
, is seeking an experienced Marine Electrician for service and electrical systems work on high-end yachts. This role requires strong hands-on experience with AC/DC power systems, marine wiring, diagnostics, and vessel electrical repairs — ideal for mid-level and senior-level yacht electricians.
- Install, repair, and troubleshoot marine electrical (AC/DC) and electronic systems
- Diagnose faulty wiring, components, and power distribution issues
- Use test equipment (ohmmeters, voltmeters, ammeters, oscilloscopes, test lamps) to evaluate systems
- Inspect electrical systems and components for hazards, defects, and compliance
- Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and wiring layouts
- Install wiring, cable runs, conduit, and passage tubes through bulkheads and compartments
- Perform wiring termination, panel work, grounding, bonding, and power cable installation
- Ensure all electrical work meets marine safety standards and ABYC best practices
- 3+ years of marine electrical experience (required)
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC power distribution
, single-phase & three-phase electrical theory - Experience working on yacht electrical systems (service, repair, or new installation)
- Ability to use crimpers, soldering tools, heavy crimping tools, and electrical test meters
- Able to read and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical blueprints
- Familiarity with ABYC standards (ABYC certification is a plus
) - Experience with European electrical distribution systems is a plus
- Understanding of marine class society standards (ABS, Lloyds, BV, RINA) preferred
