Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic
Overview
We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic for an Environmental Services company located in Saratoga County
. This candidate will inspect, repair, assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and maintain heavy construction equipment and diesel-powered vehicles. This position will include working out of the shop and providing field service on various job sites across the greater Northeast region.
$38.00/hr - $42.00/hr
Minimum Qualifications- 5-10 years of experience as a heavy equipment diesel mechanic
- Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License and DOT Certified
- Demonstrating in-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and hydraulic systems
- Excellent problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task, manage work priorities, and effectively work within a deadline driven environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a formal training program in diesel mechanics through a technical school or community college
- Master Mechanic (ASE) certification
- Perform repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment including engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, exhaust systems, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and more
- Analyze malfunctions, troubleshoot problems that may not be readily apparent, and find solutions to challenging repair scenarios
- Order parts and maintain inventory
- Conduct thorough inspections and routine maintenance to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
- Use computerized tools and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of all services performed
- Conduct field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations
$38-$42 per hour
