As a Security Officer - Flex Residential Patrol Specialist in Brooklyn, NY

Learn more:  As an unarmed patrol officer at a commercial real estate location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, complete routine rounds, and maintain a visible presence that helps to deter security-related incidents.

You will assist tenants and visitors with directions and service-focused communication, document activity using a computer and/or tablet, and partner with site teams to address concerns with integrity. Allied Universal is agile, reliable, innovative, and people first.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to building tenants, employees, visitors and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms and/or requests for assistance in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting observations and notifying site contacts as directed.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of commercial property areas including lobbies, corridors, parking areas, loading zones and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or access concerns.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity for irregular conditions, assist with directing visitors and/or deliveries, and help maintain orderly conduct in common areas.
  • Complete shift reports, incident reports and patrol logs accurately and on time, and communicate significant conditions to Allied Universal leadership and/or site management as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be 21+ years of age.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
