Solution Architect – Amigo
About Amigo
Amigo builds AI agents for healthcare. For managed service customers, we maintain and uplift agent performance, ensuring clinical safety and continuous improvement of patient outcomes. Our agents operate autonomously within bounded clinical domains, with clear inclusions, exclusions, and handoff protocols. The platform handles both clinical workflows and patient engagement at scale—including post‑discharge monitoring, intake, medication adherence, care gap closure, and more.
Context‑aware agents with memory across sessions and clinical action capabilities. Series A funding, clinical validation, and evidence generation in partnership with leading academic medical institutions.
About This Role
As a Solution Architect at Amigo, you will own the technical integration layer between our AI agents and legacy health systems. You will design and implement connections to EHRs such as Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas, and Healthie, enabling agents to read patient data, write clinical notes, and execute actions within existing workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Design and implement EHR integrations (Epic, athenahealth, Oracle Health, Canvas, Healthie) for bidirectional data exchange
- Build FHIR‑based APIs and HL7 interfaces that enable agents to access patient records and write clinical documentation
- Navigate health system IT environments: authentication (OAuth, SMART on FHIR), network configurations, and data access policies
- Build reliable data fetching pipelines that agents use to retrieve patient context during clinical workflows
- Design integration architectures that handle PHI securely and maintain audit trails
- Work directly with health system IT teams to scope, implement, and validate integrations
- Build monitoring and alerting for integration health, data freshness, and error rates
- Document integration patterns and create repeatable playbooks for new EHR deployments
- Collaborate with agent engineers to ensure integrations support clinical workflow requirements
- Contribute to compliance documentation for HIPAA, SOC 2, and HITRUST certifications
What We’re Looking For
- 7+ years of experience with healthcare IT systems and EHR integrations in production environments
- Deep knowledge of FHIR, HL7v2, and healthcare interoperability standards through hands‑on implementation
- Experience with Epic, athenahealth, or similar EHR platforms from an integration perspective—ideally at a company where EHR integration was core to the product’s value proposition
- Strong Python skills (typing, schema design, retry strategies, error propagation) and building highly reliable systems
- Understanding of healthcare authentication patterns (OAuth 2.0, SMART on FHIR, SAML)
- Experience working directly with health system IT teams on technical implementations
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and PHI handling
- Execution‑oriented and defensive‑minded: ship integrations while anticipating failure modes
- Strong debugging skills for distributed systems spanning multiple organizations
- Clear communication across engineering, clinical, and customer IT stakeholders
Nice to Have
- Experience with healthcare data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake) for analytics integrations
- Background with real‑time streaming systems for clinical event processing
- Knowledge of CDS Hooks or clinical decision support integration patterns
- Experience with healthcare APIs beyond EHRs (labs, pharmacy, imaging)
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance certifications (HITRUST, SOC 2 for healthcare)
- Experience building integration monitoring and observability systems
Benefits
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
- Mental health support and wellness coaching
- Flexible wellness stipend for fitness, therapy, or personal growth
- Daily catered lunch and dinner
- Annual learning budget for courses, books, or conferences
- Conference attendance budget for professional development
- Development setup of your choice
- Academic collaboration opportunities
