As a Security Officer – Unarmed Shelter Patrol Roving Full-Time in East Elmhurst, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned shelter locations, helping to deter security‑related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for residents and visitors. Your presence and routine patrols will support a sense of comfort while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication.

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies and/or emergency response activities as needed.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the shelter and its perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or security‑related issues within the location to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying authorized individuals, and helping to maintain order within the shelter environment.
• Support Allied Universal and client staff during emergency situations by following emergency response protocols and providing information as required.

• A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
