Job Description & How to Apply Below
This role is open at Senior Director / VP / Executive level for the right individual.
We are looking for the best of the best.
New York / New Jersey
On-site
We are building what we believe can become the leading liquid biopsy and molecular diagnostics program in the world
. This role sits at the heart of that ambition.
We are looking for a hands-on Molecular Pathologist who wants true ownership — someone motivated by building, scaling, and clinically deploying next-generation molecular assays rather than operating in purely academic, advisory, or medical affairs environments.
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to:
- Help design and build a best-in-class molecular diagnostics platform
- Own liquid biopsy, ctDNA, and MRD assays from concept through live clinical sign-out
- Shape standards, workflows, and assay strategy at a global level
This is not a review-only role. This is a leader and builder’s role
.
What You’ll Do
- Act as an independent molecular sign-out pathologist in a CLIA/CAP laboratory
- Lead NGS assay development and validation (DNA/RNA), end-to-end
- Drive liquid biopsy / ctDNA / MRD assay design, validation, SOP authorship, and regulatory readiness
- Work closely with bioinformatics, laboratory operations, and quality/regulatory teams to scale assays into routine clinical use
- Take ownership of assay troubleshooting, optimisation, and expansion
Required Background
- MD with board certification in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP)
- (or AP/CP with documented, ongoing molecular sign-out responsibility)
- 5+ years practicing as a molecular pathologist
- 5+ years post-board certification with independent clinical responsibility
- Demonstrated ownership of NGS assay build-out and clinical implementation
- Hands-on experience in a CLIA/CAP molecular diagnostics laboratory
- Direct experience with liquid biopsy / ctDNA assays
- (MRD experience strongly preferred)
Nice to Have
- Experience beyond solid-tumor-only molecular diagnostics
- Proven history of taking assays from build → validation → live clinical sign-out
- Comfort operating in fast-moving, high-expectation environments
- Not a purely academic or medical affairs-led profile
Why This Role
- Opportunity to help build one of the most ambitious molecular diagnostics programs globally
- Real technical and clinical ownership
- Senior-level impact without stepping away from hands-on execution
