United Healthcare Community and State's Sales Markets are key drivers of the organization’s overall growth. As an Essential Plan (EP) Account Manager, you’ll utilize innovative strategies and programs to ensure access to health care coverage for the underserved and impact millions of lives. You’ll use a energetic, empathetic approach to marketing and add value to our team. Through community marketing and outreach efforts, you will have direct impact on membership growth and retention.

Responsibilities
  • Enroll eligible members in UHC Essential Plan
  • Build and foster relationships with key accounts (provider offices, CBOs, housings, etc.)
  • Present health plan information to providers and business advocates; work toward closing sales
  • Serve as point of contact for members to provide excellent service and enrollment experience
  • Lead pipeline management
  • Meet or exceed sales and enrollment expectations within assigned territory
  • Conduct product information presentations in multiple settings, including in-home consultations
  • Function independently and responsibly with minimal supervision
  • Track and measure sales event effectiveness and activities, events, leads, and relationship progress daily in internal systems
  • Provide input, support and feedback on promotional opportunities, benefits, and other issues
  • Stay informed on operations, provider network, premiums, member services, claims, explanations of benefits, processes and other services to provide accurate information to community partners, prospects, and members
  • Manage multiple priorities including visits to provider offices and timely follow-up on leads
  • Maintain schedule to keep appointments on time and document information accordingly
  • Input consumer demographics and interactions into company systems as appropriate
  • Perform other duties as required

  • Communicate complex healthcare information to potential clients
Required Qualifications
  • Marketplace Certified (Valid NYSOH Certified Application Counselor  - CAC). If not active or not in good standing, willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • 2+ years of B2B, B2C direct marketing, outside sales or community outreach experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a CRM (Salesforce)
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving history, reliable transportation and current automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel locally up to 100% of time within assigned NY market area
  • Insured, dependable vehicle with current driver’s license
  • Ability to work core business hours, Monday – Friday 8am-5pm and nights and weekends when required
  • Reside within/commutable distance of target geography
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with communities of diverse ethnicities, cultural backgrounds and underserved communities
  • Outside sales and territory management experience
  • Knowledge of Essential Plan Marketplace marketing rules and regulations; training provided
  • Established relationships with non-profits, community sources (CBOs), religious organizations in designated territory
  • Team player with ability to collaborate across teams and contribute ideas
  • Bilingual abilities (Russian, Spanish, English, Arabic, French, etc.)
Compensation and Benefits

Pay is based on factors including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The hourly pay ranges from $19.23 to $38.46 based on full-time employment. Role is eligible for sales bonuses. Benefits include a comprehensive package, incentive programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution. All benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.
