Business Development, Sales Representative
We are looking for an architectural rep to represent Home Tile Center in the ceramic tile industry, working in New York City and the five boroughs. The candidate should have prior experience. The role focuses on growing our reputation in NYC by collaborating with architects, architectural firms, and designers.
This individual will be responsible for developing relationships with architects, designers, and other key contacts involved in construction projects throughout the region and beyond. The role requires a dynamic, relationship-driven professional who can influence product specifications, manage projects through the pipeline, and close sales that deliver both volume and margin growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and target architects, designers, and developers for new business opportunities.
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, cold calling, presentations, and project tracking.
- Drive product specifications into architectural and design plans for Home Tile Center of NY’s key offerings.
Account & Project Management
- Maintain strong, long‑term relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
- Manage sales pipeline from initial contact through to order fulfillment and post‑sales follow‑up.
- Collaborate with internal teams (contractor sales, purchasing, logistics, customer service) to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms in line with company goals.
- Track and report on project opportunities, wins, and forecasted sales.
Market & Product Expertise
- Stay informed on tile, stone, and building material trends in the NYC market.
- Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.
- Provide product knowledge sessions and training to clients as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Architecture, Design, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of outside sales experience (architectural/building materials industry strongly preferred).
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
- Strong network within the NYC architecture, design, or construction community a plus.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Self‑motivated, goal‑oriented, and highly organized.
