How we see it

At Beni, we value the practice of rumination and the courage it takes to see the forest through the trees. We swim against algorithms, sedimentary beliefs, and self-serious sophistication. In spirit and place, Beni is a company where ancient tradition bends, but never breaks, in the name of innovation and progress.

Overview

We’re excited to share a comprehensive overview of the Sales Lead, North America role — including key responsibilities, expectations, compensation, and benefits. This document is designed to provide clarity as we move forward in confirming our collaboration.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Sales Lead who thrives in a player–coach environment — someone who can both drive sales and mentor a growing team. This role blends high-touch client engagement with leadership, process-building, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll partner closely with the founders to grow company revenue, strengthen sales operations, and elevate the client experience. Leading by example, you’ll actively sell, share best practices, and help shape a high-performing, design-driven sales culture rooted in creativity, authenticity, and care.

For a self-starter who loves design, thrives in entrepreneurial environments, and wants to make a tangible impact, this is a pivotal role in Beni’s next chapter.

Recap of Responsibilities
  • Lead by example as both a top-performing seller and mentor to teammates.
  • Partner with leadership/founders to define sales structure, rhythms, and growth strategy.
  • Drive accountability through weekly pipeline reviews and performance check-ins.
  • Identify process gaps and propose improvements to enhance visibility and productivity.
Business Development (Trade & DTC)
  • Drive new business among interior designers, architects, and hospitality clients.
  • Deepen relationships with key Trade accounts and high-value DTC clients.
  • Represent Beni at showroom appointments, trade events, and industry activations.
  • Partner with marketing to develop outreach campaigns and events that generate qualified leads.
Relationship Management & Client Experience
  • Model exceptional client communication and responsiveness.
  • Ensure seamless coordination between sales, operations, and production teams.
  • Mentor teammates on relationship-building, storytelling, and objection handling.
  • Support transparency around production and fulfillment timelines, proactively communicating updates to clients.
  • Oversee consistent and accurate CRM usage (Pipedrive + Shopify).
  • Refine sales processes and reporting to improve efficiency and clarity.
  • Collaborate with leadership and developers to enhance automation and Slack visibility tools.

Partner with leadership to forecast revenue by collection, region, and client type.
  • Track performance metrics and provide regular insights to founders.
  • Contribute to broader strategic initiatives — including pricing, trade programs, and client engagement strategies.
  • Partner with leadership to determine and implement best practice sampling strategies.
Showroom Operations & Engagement
  • Lead by example in hosting showroom appointments and maintaining hospitality and client experience standards.
  • Ensure samples and displays are aligned with core business objectives and brand direction.
  • Support scheduling, inventory checks, and special event coordination as needed.
Who You Are
  • Both strategic and hands-on — equally comfortable selling, managing, and optimizing.
  • A natural leader with the ability to motivate peers through collaboration and clarity.
  • Deeply connected to or experienced in the interior design, architecture, or trade industries.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments.
  • Passionate about design, storytelling, and delivering an exceptional client experience.
