Position SummaryThe Group Sales Manager is responsible for generating and managing group room business for Ink 48, with a strong focus on corporate, association, SMERF (social, military, educational, religious, fraternal), and entertainment markets. This role requires an energetic, hands‑on sales professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and can drive revenue growth while ensuring a high level of client satisfaction. Events and functions experience is a strong plus, and administration tasks are a must as the role requires accurate reporting, contract management, and system updates.
Key Responsibilities- Targets accounts, markets, or segments with heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation.
- Responds to and manages larger and more complex incoming opportunities for the property.
- Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and property revenue goals.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients, including travel planners, production companies, and event organizers through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
- Conducts site visits, presentations, and client entertainment to build loyalty and secure new business.
- Closes the best opportunities based on market conditions and individual property needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Collaborates with catering and operations teams on events and functions tied to group business.
- Handles administration tasks such as preparing contracts, updating Infor SCS/PMS, maintaining accurate records, and completing reports.
- Works closely with revenue management to optimize group rates, patterns, and inventory controls.
- Prepares and maintains accurate sales reports, forecasts, and account information.
- Represents hotels at industry trade shows, networking events, and client functions as needed.
- Consistently achieves or exceeds assigned revenue and room night goals.
- Handles proposals, agreements, and follow‑ups in a timely and professional manner.
- Develops effective sales plans and actions.
- Strengthens relationships within the community to expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
- Provides excellent customer sales service to grow share of the account.
- Manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in hotel sales, focusing on group business.
- Prior New York City hotel sales experience required.
- Strong understanding of the NYC market, including corporate, association, and event segments.
- Infor PMS/SCS experience strongly preferred.
- Events and functions experience is a plus.
- Administration tasks and organizational skills are essential.
- Proven ability to negotiate contracts, manage client relationships, and close business.
- Highly motivated, self‑starter, with a hands‑on approach to sales and client engagement.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced boutique hotel environment.

$100,000 – $110,000 annually
