About the RoleThis role exists to design and scale the sales engine that defines the next 100x of Build’s revenue. You take the early playbook, refine it under pressure, and turn it into a repeatable system. The mandate is not to close isolated deals but to architect a sales motion that compounds. You’ve probably held high performing sales roles in Proptech companies (including founding one) or understand institutions because you’ve worked for the best of them.
You will work closely with James SE and own how sales scales as a discipline inside Build. You can expect to:
- Take the existing sales motion and stress-test it against larger mandates and more complex stakeholders.
- Close high-value institutional deals while extracting patterns that make future deals easier.
- Define and operationalize the sales playbook across targeting, messaging, qualification, and closing.
- Build predictable pipeline generation across enterprise and institutional buyers.
- Shorten sales cycles without compromising deal size or quality.
- Increase average contract value and multi-year commitments.
- Systematize founder-led selling into a durable, team-based capability.
- Align tightly with GTM, partnerships, and vertical leads to ensure sales reinforces positioning.
- Build relationships at senior levels across investors, developers, operators, and governments.
- Establish sales metrics, reporting discipline, and forecasting accuracy from first principles.
- Design the hiring profile and structure for the future sales team.
- Replace intuition-driven selling with structured, high-conviction deal execution.
- Are comfortable with the idea that your targets will 20x base compensation and you're up to the challenge.
Success in this role means revenue scales faster than sales headcount and deal quality improves as volume increases.
