We are seeking a Senior Sales Manager
, an exciting opportunity to be part of Hotel Barriere Fouquet’s New York successfully opened since September 2022. This full time position is based on site in New York City. We are looking for a motivated and experienced Senior Sales Manager with 5-7 years of experience who will report to the Executive Director of Sales and is responsible for business generation as it relates to prospecting and growing our luxury travel trade and direct business on behalf of Fouquet’s New York.
include but are not limited to:
- Promote, prospect and secure new business from travel advisors within targeted accounts.
- Nurture existing accounts and relationships to maximize revenue while also proactively soliciting new clients and business for the hotel.
- Create strategic sales trips with robust sales call programs outside of GSO organized roadshows.
- Host site tours and entertain clients on property.
- Be familiar with Fouquet’s New York sales policies and selling techniques with a strong emphasis on maximizing occupancy and average daily rate (ADR).
- Follow internal procedures and communicate regularly with various departments involved in servicing guests to ensure all VIP pre‑arrival details are in place to meet guest expectations.
- Field inquiries and send proposals to close the business.
- Identify and target new travel advisors & direct clients that will generate potential new business.
- Demonstrate excellent presentation skills and creative selling techniques on sales calls and site inspections.
- Identify accounts on Agency
360 to grow market share and provide 30/60/90‑day action plans. - Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue and direct sales goals including outside sales calls, prospecting calls, site inspections, and entertainment as outlined.
- Uncover potential leads on behalf of sister properties and the company.
- Treat active selling, solicitation, and business development as #1 job priority.
- Schedule activities effectively and meet deadlines.
- Organize sales calls and trips in a cost‑ and time‑efficient manner and within compliance of established budgets.
- Plan activities in advance; ability to coordinate special events, promotions and other required management duties as assigned.
- Establish and maintain strong Delphi/Thynk hygiene including account creation, account traces, contact information, client email lists, bookings, etc.
- Understand and maximize the utilization of all automated sales and reservations systems (Opera).
- Participate in sales meetings and revenue meetings as required.
- Respond and maintain effective communication with all potential and existing clients.
- Follow up on all pending and currently booked business details in a timely manner.
- Generate weekly sales recaps of current and upcoming sales activities.
- Interact with clients & guests to obtain feedback on product quality and overall service experience.
- Cultivate lasting relationships with clients to grow their loyalty.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of the comp set’s product, strengths, & weaknesses in order to differentiate Fouquet’s New York and win the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Hospitality Management Degree qualification is preferred.
- Luxury hotel sales relevant experience preferred (minimum of 2‑3 years experience in luxury travel trade selling role).
- Ability to work full time on site.
- Must have the ability to travel as needed.
- Proven sales track records.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills expected in a luxury hotel environment.
- Demonstrates proficient computer skills and working knowledge of OPERA, Delphi, Google Applications, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of luxury travel trade and best industry practices.
- Guest & client service oriented with a high level attention to detail.
- Capacity to multi‑task and work under tight deadlines.
The Senior Sales Manager primary function is to solicit for new travel advisor business and manage revenue growth by account in order to meet and exceed room revenue goals to support maximizing profits of the hotel.
Annual Salary range: $110K to $135K plus bonus incentive plan depending on experience.
