Farrow & Ball – Painter Business Development Manager, Tri-State Region (NY,NJ,CT) USA

The Painter Business Development Manager is a senior, field-based sales professional responsible for growing product adoption and driving revenue via painters. This role will be responsible engaging directly with professional painters, the painter/contractor sales teams at our 3rd party retail partners, and our teams at Farrow & Ball showrooms.

This position is offered on a full time basis, working a mixture at home and out on the road. The ideal candidate should be based within the Tri State region - New York, New Jersey or Connecticut.

Farrow & Ball is a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients.

The unique Farrow & Ball look transforms modern and traditional homes, large and small, inside and out. Established in Dorset in 1946, we have grown over the last 75 years and now proudly have 60 showrooms worldwide with a global network of stockists.

The key to our success is the people behind the paint: from the team handcrafting each tin to showroom staff to support functions, our shared passion ensures customers have a positive, engaging experience at every stage of their journey with us.

This individual contributor role is ideal for someone with deep experience in the paint category, a passion for consultative and relationship-based selling, and a strong understanding of the product knowledge and application needs of professional painters. This role is central to our trade growth strategy and plays a key part in expanding painter loyalty, increasing our 3rd party sales activity, and supporting showroom sales.

As a key partner to both the 3rd party accounts and showroom teams, the Painter Business Development Manager acts as an ambassador for the Farrow & Ball brand—providing painter education, driving awareness, and representing the company at demos, training events, on-site visits, “ride-alongs”, virtual presentations and in-store engagements. This role requires frequent regional travel—up to 80%—across the Tri-State area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage a portfolio of professional painter relationships within the Tri-State region.
  • Build and manage a portfolio of relationships and activities with sales leadership and reps at our partner 3rd party retailers, ultimately influencing them to increase sales of F&B products and services to their painter customers.
  • Drive brand awareness and product adoption through regular in-person painter visits, demos, in-store engagements, and training sessions.
  • Act as the key point of contact for product education and painter-focused sales enablement, supporting both independent retailers and Farrow & Ball showroom teams.
  • Plan and execute painter training events to support product knowledge, surface preparation, and application techniques.
  • Collaborate with showroom and retail partners to capture in-store insights and identify opportunities for local market growth.
  • Expand share of wallet by identifying and supporting new painter customers and increasing loyalty with existing painter clients.
  • Track activity and performance through regular CRM reporting and pipeline updates.
  • Represent Farrow & Ball at trade shows, dealer activations, and market events as needed.
  • Serve as a voice of the painter in cross-functional discussions with product, showroom, and marketing teams.
Key Attributes
  • Significant experience in the paint or adjacent home improvement industry, ideally with a manufacturer, distributor, or independent dealer.
  • Deep understanding of professional painter needs, coating systems, and product application techniques.
  • Field sales experience with a demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and close business.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, including the ability to lead demos and training sessions.
  • Self-starter with strong time management and organizational skills; capable of working independently and managing a flexible travel schedule.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% throughout the Tri-State…
