Position Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for cultivating new business and driving revenue across social events, brand activations, and corporate meetings within Montauk Yacht Club. This role combines strategic sales efforts with relationship-driven service, ensuring every event aligns with our refined aesthetic and elevated guest experience. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the luxury market, a creative approach to event sales, and the ability to build strong partnerships with planners, agencies, and high-value clients.

Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development
  • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to acquire new business across social, brand, and corporate segments
  • Proactively identify and pursue leads through networking, prospecting, site tours, and industry events
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with event planners, agencies, corporate partners, and local community organizations
  • Prepare customized proposals, negotiate contracts, and secure profitable events that align with revenue goals
  • Serve as the primary contact for clients from initial inquiry through contract signature, ensuring a seamless and personalized experience
  • Conduct site inspections, design compelling presentations, and articulate Montauk Yacht Club’s unique value proposition
  • Partner closely with the Director of Banquets & Catering, Executive Chef, and operations teams to ensure successful event handoff and flawless execution
  • Provide thoughtful recommendations on menus, layouts, luxury enhancements, and guest experience touches
Revenue Management & Reporting
  • Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets for room blocks, event space, and F&B commitments
  • Accurately forecast sales activity, generate pace reports, and maintain pipeline updates in the CRM system
  • Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and client feedback to adjust sales strategies and identify new opportunities
  • Maintain strong contract management, ensuring compliance with hotel policies and financial controls
Brand Representation & Community Engagement
  • Represent the hotel at luxury lifestyle events, trade shows, corporate showcases, and industry associations
  • Support marketing initiatives by contributing content, collaborating on campaigns, and promoting hotel experiences
  • Uphold Montauk Yacht Club’s brand voice and luxury positioning in all client communication and sales materials
  • Work closely with the Revenue, Marketing, and Events teams to ensure cohesive messaging and alignment of goals
  • Participate in weekly sales meetings, event recaps, and strategy sessions to support continuous improvement
  • Assist with VIP events, press previews, and brand activations hosted by the hotel
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred
  • 3–5+ years of sales experience in luxury hotels, event venues, or premium lifestyle brands
  • Proven success in selling social, corporate, and/or brand events in a competitive market
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strong relationship builder with a polished, service-driven approach
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite;
    Delphi or similar sales software a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, boutique environment
