The Director of Sales will be an experienced sales professional responsible for growing ad sales and sponsorship revenue, while driving commercial opportunities for Sphere Co. The Director of Sales will sit in New York City and cover select categories such as Food & Bev, Automotive and Healthcare, cultivate client relationships with C‑suite stakeholders, key decision makers, and their respective agencies.
What will you do?- Maximize revenue through strategic marketing solutions, innovative sales and marketing concepts focused on global brands.
- Responsible for selling the Exosphere—the world’s largest outdoor LED canvas—along with sponsorship packages, official sponsor naming rights, and custom brand integrations.
- Focus on building media and sponsorship partnerships with the largest companies in the world.
- Ensure accounts are properly tracked and updated in CRM.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Strategy, Legal, Finance and Creative) to implement and develop data‑driven sales approach and maximize efficiency in the sales process.
- Strategically utilize outward facing activities (events & travel) and time with prospects.
- Build and cultivate external networks and relationships and prospect clients as needed.
- Focus efforts on media strategies designed to maximize revenue streams for Sphere Co. and cross collaboration with the MSG Family of Companies.
- Deliver a sales quota, manage an extensive pipeline process, and maintain customer relationships across all levels.
- 10+ years’ direct sales experience.
- Seasoned negotiator and relationship builder (internally & externally) with a proven record of negotiating complex, multi‑product, multi‑year deals that exceed aggressive revenue targets.
- Extensive knowledge of brand marketing and sponsorship sales, preferably having sold for both traditional and digital‑led ad sales with live events (sports, music) experience a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven cross‑functional leader skilled at building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong relationships with all customers both internal and external.
- Ability to work independently to troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and open to learning new ways of working.
- Ability to be a reliable team member, capable of effective collaboration to achieve our shared goals across teams and departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, tailoring the message based on the purpose, audience, and channel.
- Ability to embrace change with a flexible mindset, even if the way forward isn’t clear.
- Travel (Burbank, Las Vegas and elsewhere) and non‑traditional work hours will be required.

Pay Range$150,000 — $175,000 USD
