the Role

High-impact role for a merchant who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This person will own key portions of the third-party brand buy while also playing a hands-on role in shaping and executing BNTO’s growing private label business.

Ideal profile is both highly analytical and deeply trend-attuned — comfortable moving between market appointments, vendor negotiations, and product development.

Your Duties &

Responsibilities Include:

Third-Party Brand Buying

  • Execute seasonal buys across assigned women’s categories
  • Identify and onboard emerging brands aligned with BNTO’s customer
  • Partner with Planning on OTB, depth, and flow
  • Monitor performance and drive in-season opportunities
  • Maintain and grow key brand relationships

Private Label Development (Merchant-Led)

  • Support end-to-end development of BNTO private label assortment
  • Drive product selection, competitive research, and trend direction
  • Work directly with overseas vendors and factories
  • Track development calendars and key milestones
  • Help optimize costing, margin, and product architecture
  • Support fit, fabric, and assortment decisions in partnership with Director
  • Attend domestic and international markets (~6 trips/year)
  • Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and delivery timelines

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Partner closely with Planning and Operations
  • Support investment reviews and assortment strategy
  • Contribute to content-driven merchandising moments as needed
Your Experience and Skills include:
  • 5 to 7 years buying or merchandising experience in women’s apparel
  • Strong product instinct with deep trend and customer awareness
  • Experience managing OTB and working closely with Planning
  • Exposure to private label or product development strongly preferred
  • Comfortable working directly with overseas vendors and factories
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through
  • Scrappy and solutions-oriented; thrives in fast-growth environments
  • Excited by both data and fashion
  • Nice to Have:
  • Contemporary / trend-driven brand experience
  • Strong understanding of digitally-native or “Gen Z” customer
  • Exposure to sourcing from China
  • Rental or multi-channel experience a plus
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Pay range of $90,000 to $120,000. Final compensation, level and job title will be determined by relevant factors such as experience, skill sets and location.
