AboutThe Role
As Assistant Store Manager
, you are the co‑pilot of the New York City store — a key leader on the floor and a trusted partner to the Store Manager. You will help drive daily performance, uphold brand standards, and deliver exceptional customer experiences while supporting all operational and people‑management functions of the store.
This is a hands‑on leadership role ideal for someone who thrives in premium retail environments, leads with emotional intelligence, and is excited to support a growing international brand during a pivotal moment of U.S. expansion.
This position is on‑site, five days per week, and is a contract role through Retail For The People.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Development- Lead by example on the sales floor, inspiring the team through strong selling, styling, and service
- Support the Store Manager in coaching, training, and developing a high‑performing team
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivated team culture aligned with brand values
- Step into store leadership responsibilities in the Store Manager’s absence
- Deliver elevated, personalized customer experiences that build long‑term loyalty
- Support the achievement of store KPIs including sales, conversion, AOV, and client engagement
- Build strong customer relationships and contribute to clienteling initiatives
- Act as a brand ambassador in‑store and within the local community
- Support daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and reporting
- Assist with inventory management, stock control, replenishment, and loss prevention
- Uphold visual merchandising standards and ensure the store environment reflects the brand aesthetic
- Receive, unpack, steam, process, and merchandise product deliveries
- Assist with PR pulls, stylist requests, and in‑store events as needed
- 2+ years of experience in fashion retail (leadership experience strongly preferred)
- Passion for premium fashion, styling, and experiential retail
- A confident, hands‑on leader who motivates through action and example
- Strong communication skills with high emotional intelligence
- Organized, detail‑oriented, and operationally minded
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment
- Physically able to lift up to 30 lbs and support daily stock movement
- Flexible availability, including weekends
