Head of Retail Sales & Marketing (Frozen Food / CPG)
📍 Applicants located in Northeast strongly preferred
We are partnering with a growing frozen food manufacturer seeking a Head of Retail Sales & Marketing to lead and scale its retail business across key national and regional accounts.
This is a highly entrepreneurial, hands‑on leadership role with full ownership of retail performance including sales execution, brand strategy, trade marketing, and customer P&L.
The Opportunity- Own and grow a national retail business within frozen foods / CPG
- Lead expansion across grocery, mass, and club channels
- Drive both day‑to‑day sales execution and long‑term brand growth
- Work closely with executive leadership to shape go‑to‑market strategy
- High visibility role with end‑to‑end ownership of the retail channel
- Manage and develop relationships with major retailers and distributors (Walmart, regional grocery, mass, etc.)
- Lead broker networks and retail execution partners to drive distribution, in‑stock performance, and promotional compliance
- Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies to drive sales, share, and profitability
- Own trade spend, pricing, and customer‑level P&Ls
- Build and manage annual plans, forecasts, and promotional calendars
- Lead new product commercialization, from concept through launch and post‑launch optimization
- Partner with marketing to execute shopper marketing, POS, and retail activations
- Leverage syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS) to inform strategy and customer selling stories
- Serve as the voice of the retail customer cross‑functionally (Ops, Finance, Supply Chain)
- 10+ years in CPG retail sales and marketing (frozen or food preferred)
- Experience managing national and regional retail accounts
- Strong background working with brokers and retail partners
- Proven success in trade marketing, promotional strategy, and P&L ownership
- Experience with category management and syndicated data (IRI, Nielsen, SPINS)
- Track record of successful product launches in retail channels
- Comfortable in a hands‑on, entrepreneurial environment
- Strong mix of strategy + execution
- Data‑driven decision maker who can translate insights into growth
- Proven ability to build relationships and influence across stakeholders
- Someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented business
- True ownership of a retail business
