Position
Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain, the Demand and Distribution Planning Manager will drive the Demand and Distribution Planning for select categories for all geographies of the Fendi America’s retail (and Ecommerce) network. They will collaborate with the Merchandising Department, Retail teams, Finance Department, Logistics, and the Central Supply Chain team to increase sales and react fast to challenges and opportunities.
Job Responsibilities- Compile and analyze monthly demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.
- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
- Develop the sales plan and prepare and maintain OTB coordinating with Fendi Americas Merchandising and Supply Chain Team in Head Office; collaborate with merchandising and retail to review forecasts and event strategy; use and maintain the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
- Manage the inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
- Provide both qualitative and quantitative analysis at quarterly and seasonal hindsight’s and investment reviews, drawing insights to affect future product line.
- Drive weekly business discussions with merchandising team and country leaders to analyze the business, identifying selling trends.
- Develop and evolve standardized reports and processes to drive efficiency and advance the team’s productivity.
- Assemble and study quarterly, seasonal, annual actualized shipments, style/sku counts and connect with the Supply Chain to secure additional inventory when demand exceeds forecast.
- Allocate merchandise to Retail stores and E-Commerce according to launch plan, warehouse, and store inventory levels. Find opportunities for re-allocation.
- Coordinate merchandise transfers to fulfill stock needs, refresh assortments and support events (i.e. caravans and trunk shows).
- Communicate picking and shipping priorities to the warehouse and trouble shoot any inventory shortage issues.
- Analyze selling performance across countries. Support store opening / closing plans.
- Crafting and presenting targets and initiatives to continue to strategically drive the growth of the business.
- Build seasonal product plans, analyze sku efficiency, perform in-season and post-season hindsight reporting across channels by collaborating optimally with cross-functional partners.
- Develop top-down and bottom-up financial targets and provide planning mentorship for all projections and buys to ensure accurate penetration by product category and mix.
- Identify product and delivery flow wins/risks and cross-channel opportunities to drive assortment strategies.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Attributes
- 5 years confirmed experience in a luxury retail or wholesale environment, including time as a Planner, Allocator, Buyer, or as Retail business analyst.
- Strong analytical and forecasting skills.
- Validated retail math and intuition for business, including elements of markup, margin planning, selling and inventory efficiency measures.
- Ability to run reports and analyze large amounts of data, very Strong Excel knowledge required.
- Ability to work independently to meet tight target dates.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; including presenting sophisticated material in an organized and compelling manner.
- A strategic problem solver who recognizes opportunities and can recommend strategies by building reason and influence senior leaders to move to execution.
- Strong time management skills, attention to detail, problem solving, interpersonal and organizational skills – communication between functional groups is essential.
- Sophisticated proficiency in Excel, Word, Power Point
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Anaplan forecasts is a plus.
- Foreign language skill a plus.
