About UsCamber builds software to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare. We streamline and replace manual work so clinicians can focus on what they do best: providing great care. For more details on our thesis, check out our write‑up:
What is Camber? We’ve raised $50 M in funding from a16z, Craft Ventures, YCombinator, Manresa, and many others who are committed to improving the accessibility of care.
Our mission to change behavioral health starts with us and how we operate. We don’t want to just change behavioral health, we want to change the way startups operate. We value accessibility and quality of healthcare, a sense of humor, and an inclusive environment.
About the RoleEnterprise customers need robust financial reporting with compliance‑grade data fidelity, and our Account Managers currently spend hours on custom analyses that should be standardized and scalable. The Strategy Associate will own this work and build an analytical foundation for our growing enterprise customer base. This role sits at the intersection of customer experience and data, proactively identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities in customer data, creating repeatable methodologies, and partnering with Enterprise Account Managers and the Data Products team.
Whatyou’ll do
- Operational analysis: proactively spot denial trends, anomalies in unpaid claims, and repeat issues before they escalate.
- Performance reporting: track and quantify improvements from updated protocols, conduct issue‑specific deep dives, and quantify impacts on both Camber and customers.
- Money movement analysis: analyze how dollars flow from claim phase to claim phase, surfacing insights on performance.
- First‑level diagnostics: conduct initial investigation of operational and AR issues, identify root causes and recommend next steps.
- Standardize methodologies: co‑build repeatable frameworks for 90+ day AR analyses, trend reporting, and triage with the Data team, replacing one‑off analyses with scalable processes.
- Partner with Data Products: consult on custom financial reports and data extracts to ensure compliance‑grade outputs for enterprise customers.
- 2‑4 years of experience in analytics, operations, consulting, or a similar role where you built analyses that drove decisions.
- Strong analytical skills – fluent in Excel, comfortable with BI tools and data modeling. Coding experience (SQL, Python) is a plus.
- A proactive mindset: you prefer finding problems before they are raised.
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to create structure where none exists.
- Clear communication skills: you can translate complex data into actionable insights for non‑technical audiences.
- Healthcare or RCM experience is a plus but not required; curiosity and willingness to learn the domain matters more.
- Comprehensive health coverage: medical, dental, vision plans with nationwide coverage, including 24/7 virtual urgent care.
- Mental health support: weekly therapy reimbursement up to $100.
- Paid parental leave: up to 12 weeks fully paid for new parents.
- Financial wellness: 401 K (traditional & Roth), HSA & FSA options, monthly commuter benefits for NYC employees.
- Time off that counts: 18 PTO days per year (plus rollover), office closures for holidays, monthly team events, company off‑sites, and daily in‑office lunches.
- Fitness stipend: $100/month to use on any fitness activity.
- Hybrid flexibility: in NYC, we work in the office 3–5x/week with flexible remote days.
Building an inclusive culture is one of our core tenets as a company. We’re very aware of structural inequalities that exist, and recognize that underrepresented minorities are less likely to apply for a role if they don’t think they meet all of the requirements. If that’s you and you’re reading this, we’d like to encourage you to apply regardless — we’d love to get to know you and see if there’s a place for you here!
In addition, we take security seriously, and all of our employees contribute to uphold security requirements and maintain compliance with HIPAA security regulations.
