As an Assistant Store Manager, you support the Store Manager in hiring, developing and leading store associates, overseeing store operations, maintaining brand standards, and delivering an exceptional customer experience. You assist in developing strategies to achieve key performance indicators and financial targets through business analysis, action planning, effective communication and accountability. When the Store Manager is not present, you are responsible for all primary duties.
PrimaryDuties
- Brand Provides supervision and guides the daily goals and activities of associates to deliver an exceptional client experience, maximize sales and KPIs, and drive customer loyalty. Maintains brand standards including merchandising, planograms, marketing, back rooms, dress code, etc. Serves as main point of contact to resolve customer issues and analyze store trends to anticipate customer demands.
- People Engages, trains and develops teams, recruits to build a strong candidate network, coaches or counsels as needed, and maintains positive associate relations. Ensures adherence to Company policies and expectations and communicates relevant information. Builds relationships with Store Manager peers and keeps AM/DM informed. Fosters diversity, inclusion and belonging.
- Operations Ensures execution of company processes through training, management, analysis and continuous improvement. Supports digital strategies and Omni-channel fulfillment. Manages inventory through ordering and shipments; coordinates payroll hours and schedules; ensures proper opening and closing procedures; executes Company directives.
- Safety and Loss Prevention Maintains a safe store environment, enforces policies, protects assets through inventory and cash controls, analyzes reporting and tools, and ensures compliance with HAZMAT training and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 3 or more years of retail sales or customer service experience preferred
- At least 1 year of prior management experience preferred
- Ability to lead or support a team to meet business objectives
- Ability to effectively communicate with team and management
- Scheduling availability to meet business needs
- Cosmetology license desirable but not required

Physical Requirements
The position requires physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, and occasional lifting of moderately heavy items. May require working in other stores. The work environment involves typical safety precautions for a retail setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
