Responsibilities
  • Accurately and efficiently operate the register, maintaining all cash and media.
  • Prepare, pack, label, and merchandise items according to Gristedes policy.
  • Ensure stock levels are maintained, and all products are fresh and properly displayed.
  • Inspect the quality of items in displays, cases, shelves, etc., checking relevant information and removing out-of-date, spoiled, or stale items.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including proper phone etiquette, answering questions, and communicating with management.
  • Learn and perform duties of similar positions in other departments as required.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of work area and floor.
  • Learn and perform the tasks of the department manager in their absence (Full-time Associates only).
    • Required Skills
  • High School diploma / G.E.D. or currently enrolled in high school or GED program.
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts (day, evening, weekend, holiday).
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain it.
  • Basic math skills: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
