Location: New York
The Merchandising Analyst supports seasonal merchandising plans by analyzing sales and optimizing product assortments across wholesale, retail, and e-commerce. Working with Design, Production, and Sales teams, they ensure collections are executed accurately, identify business opportunities, and help drive sales.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Compile seasonal merchandising plans aligned with the company’s collection structure and core brand pillars.
- Analyze and report on wholesale and retail performance weekly to identify key business opportunities within the collection structure.
- Develop pricing strategies informed by historical data, competitive analysis, and company pricing frameworks.
- Create seasonal buying guidelines based on sales projections and key merchandising directives from the Design team.
- Ensure seasonal line sheets are accurate with all style information and foreign currency prices at beginning of market.
- Continue to manage the foreign currency pricing ensure any price changes are updated accordingly.
- Prepare comprehensive market recaps, demonstrating strong insight into global business trends, market dynamics, and sales channels.
- Partner with Production and Client Services to ensure collections are accurately captured in order systems and communicate all collection updates across relevant departments.
- Partner with Retail and Production to fulfill special projects based on client demand.
- Advise wholesale accounts on seasonal purchases and assortment planning; manage collection cancellations as needed.
- Prepare seasonal assets and tools for Wholesale and Retail teams, collaborating with Visual Merchandising as needed.
- Collaborate with the E-commerce team to align sample requests for online photo shoots.
- 4+ years of experience in merchandising, buying, or product planning.
- Strong analytical, strategic, and commercial skills; proficient in Excel and merchandising systems (e.g., RLM, JOOR etc.).
- Experience in assortment planning, pricing, inventory management, and sales analysis.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
- Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional partnership skills and trend awareness.
