We are seeking a Footwear Planner for a company’s E-commerce business. This individual will work with the VP of Operations and Director of Merchandising on developing seasonal buys, actively monitor and analyze sales, sell‑through, and inventory in‑season, and perform as‑needed planning tasks. The ideal candidate should have a solid background in planning, ideally with E‑commerce and footwear experience, while being willing to learn from experts in the field within the organization in order to further develop their expertise.
Our ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and deadline‑driven. This role also requires proficiency in Excel, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to be organized, efficient, self‑motivated, and manage a variety of projects simultaneously.
- Partner with VP of Operations and Merchandising Manager on developing seasonal and in‑season buys that support product strategies while achieving budgeted sales and margin goals.
- Translate merchandising and buying strategy into cohesive buys, layering on seasonality, promotional cadence, and size runs, down to the UPC level.
- Transform buys into purchase orders and monitor inbound inventory and delivery dates.
- Analyze in‑season actuals, tracking demand and sell‑throughs against projections, identifying wins and risks, preparing high‑level recaps, and propose markdowns/promotions to support sell‑through strategies.
- Analyze margin by SKU and the various factors affecting them, such as return rates, marketing spend, fulfillment fees and the like.
- Support demand forecasting, replenishment programs, and inventory across multiple channels, both pre‑season and in‑season.
- Support preparation and maintenance of annual and quarterly budgets, and in‑season reforecasts.
- Be willing to put in extra hours when needed to meet key deadlines.
- 3–5 years planning experience, with the ability to demonstrate comparable knowledge and skills.
- 3–5 years of experience in the retail and/or E‑commerce industry, ideally with footwear‑specific experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of planning, retail math, e‑commerce, data analysis and forecasting techniques.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office programs, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a capacity to multitask, problem‑solve and address various aspects of the business simultaneously and efficiently.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to ensure proper management of all pending projects.
- Thrive in a self‑motivating atmosphere, while promoting team collaboration.
- Exceptional time management and willingness to put in extra hours to hit key deadlines.
