Job forth Description

The Category Manager for Meat and Seafood will be responsible for catalog management and the monitoring and analysis of usage and sales of proteins across Eataly’s North American locations. The role supports product catalog planning, maintains vendor relationships, and maximizes revenue and efficiency across retail, QSR, and restaurant outlets. Reports to Senior Buyer Meat & Seafood.

Responsibilities
  • Execute the strategic direction of the protein portfolio by analyzing category performance, identifying assortment opportunities.consume and maintaining up‑to‑date product Composite catalogs.
  • Oversee catalog maintenance for meat and seafood items, ensuring accuracy of attributes, pricing, margin, yield, and supply‑chain channels.
  • Develop data‑backed proposals from catalog KPIs and oversee forecasts and demand planning.
  • Collaborate on the promotional calendar to negotiate and build out programming activities.
  • Assist across the product life cycle: pricing reviews, quality assessments, supply‑chain channel establishment, inventory management, and performance metrics.
  • Manage a cost‑effective supply‑chain and continually reduce expenses and improve processes.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and producers, streamlining communication with store teams executing the catalog.
  • Streamline product selection for stores, prioritizing national distributors.
  • Assist with operational issues such as out‑of‑stock situations, delivery issues, backup options, invoices/payments, and item maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the culinary team for proteins used by food‑service outlets, providing updates on product usage and critical inventory levels.
  • Create reports tracking store catalog performance, conducting audits for purchasing accountability and trend monitoring.
  • Provide on‑the‑ground support during new store openings to ensure assortment activation and supply consistency.
  • Create proposals for promotions and support billback calculations post‑promotion.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in category management, purchasing, or related data analytics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Butcher or restaurant operational experience is a plus.
  • Passion for Italian cuisine and products.
  • Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Job Requirements
  • Availability to troubleshoot urgent issues on occasional nights and weekends.
  • Occasional travel to all Eataly North America locations.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 – $85,000 annually.
