Prepared Foods Counter Associate – Citarella - The Ultimate Gourmet Market

Citarella, a family‑run New York‑based gourmet market, is looking for full‑time Counter Associates to work behind its prepared foods, cheese, deli, pastry/bread counters, etc. The role focuses on exceptional customer service, product knowledge, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation.

$21.00/hr – $23.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

• Provide exceptional customer service and fulfill customer requests.
• Serve and assist customers, explaining products, flavor, taste and preparation.
• Maintain and replenish product in displays.
• Ensure proper dating of product and inventory control.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station, counter displays, cases, and surrounding areas.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness and display standards in compliance with Citarella policies and food safety handling procedures.
• Other reasonably assigned duties as per business need.

• Willingness and ability to learn about our products.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, stoop, use stairs, lift, carry, push and pull weights.
• Ability to work in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
