The Assistant General Manager supports day-to-day restaurant operations and team leadership to achieve goals across sales, cost control, guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, and employee retention
. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard environment.
- Ensure service standards, policies, and training programs are consistently followed
- Maintain high-quality food and beverage execution (recipes, portioning, service standards)
- Oversee inventory control and ordering for food, liquor, and supplies
- Ensure all guests receive friendly, responsive, and professional service
- Monitor and support online reputation (Yelp, Google, Trip Advisor, Open Table), including guest recovery and recognition
- Promote safe work habits and address operational safety risks
- Support daily financial processes: cash handling, deposits, payroll support, and reconciliation
- Build weekly schedules for hourly service staff
- Maintain organized and timely paperwork and incident documentation
- Partner with HR on employee concerns, investigations, and compliance-related matters
- Lead, coach, and motivate the team to exceed performance and service expectations
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training of new hourly team members
- Drive communication through pre-shifts, meetings, and training sessions
- Support performance reviews, discipline, and terminations in partnership with the General Manager
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and grooming standards across the team and facility
- 3+ years of experience in an upscale / fine dining restaurant environment
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Comfortable with restaurant systems and POS operations (open/close, comps, voids, transfers, back office admin)
- Professional appearance and polished communication
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays
, and a variable schedule - Comfortable standing/walking for extended periods and performing under pressure
- Proficient with tools like Gmail and Microsoft Office (and learning new systems as needed)
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and company standards
- Participate in community events and support company CSR goals
- Maintain compliance with company policies and city/state/federal regulations
- Attend mandatory staff and leadership meetings
- Support stocking, organization, and cleanliness pre-opening and post-shift
- Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or senior leadership
