Restaurant Associates

POSITION: SERVER

Location: 1585 Broadway, New York, NY 10036

Schedule: Full Time;
Monday–Friday.

Requirement: Previous fine dining, restaurant serving experience.

Pay Range: $25.00 per hour to $26.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Takes food and beverage orders and efficiently delivers items to dining room guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
  • Deliver food promptly and professionally; maintain safe food handling and sanitation standards. Follow up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests.
  • Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and notes preferences. If needed, demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
  • Communicate directly with back-of-house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
  • Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to get along well with others. Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
  • Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
  • Promote a clean, safe and neat environment for guests.
  • Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
  • Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
  • Ensure that the dining room is properly set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat while meeting established sanitation standards.
  • Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells and coffee machines.
  • Work with staff of other departments to perform job duties during special events and functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Policies and Compliance
