Description
The Brick Walk Café is a fast‑casual restaurant featuring snacks, lunches, healthier choices, an ice‑cream sundae bar, and a coffee shop. It is open 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. during the summer season and is located off Bestor Plaza with indoor and outdoor seating.
Job Details
Compensation is $10.70 per hour plus tipped earnings. Employees who are scheduled to perform non‑tipped work for 20% or more of their shift, attend required orientation or training, or do not average minimum wage with tipped income each week will receive a minimum wage of $16.00 per hour.
About Your Work Day
- Set up, tear down, and stock items and supplies throughout the shift and at shift end.
- Prepare drinks to order for guests using specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by handling food properly and ensuring correct storage.
- Work in a fast‑paced environment while handling multiple orders and tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain professionalism at all times in a fast‑paced environment.
- Work cooperatively in a team with a positive attitude.
- Clean and sanitize food surfaces and maintain NCO (Neat, Clean and Orderly) standards throughout and at the end of the shift.
- Perform inventory checks during the shift and at shift end, communicating needs to Supervisor and Manager.
- Receive and process customer payments.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
About the Referral Program
Chautauqua Institution’s Referral Bonus Program offers a $500 referral bonus (less taxes) for active employees who refer a new hire who remains employed for at least 90 days from the first physical day of work. For seasonal positions of less than six months, the new hire must remain employed for at least 30 days from the first day of work and until the closing date of the season (last Sunday in August).
About Your Schedule
Flexible full‑time and part‑time schedules are available for seasonal employment during summer operations (June‑August). Schedules may also include pre‑season or post‑season work based on business needs, typically involving evenings, weekends, and holidays. A six‑ or eight‑hour shift will start between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. Final schedules will be confirmed with management during interview and offer.

Employer‑provided housing is not available for this position. Applicants should arrange independent housing or reside within commuting distance.
