Prepare and serve well-balanced and nutritious meals for clients/special events. Serve clients in a courteous, helpful, and prompt manner. The kitchen helper must maintain a clean kitchen facility, support in various areas including receiving and stocking all kitchen products.

• Prepare/serve food for Covenant House clients/special events.
• Clean and sanitize dishes/kitchen utensils.
• Clean floors, walls, and food preparation equipment.
• Obtain products as needed by the cook.
• Assist with stocking supply rooms.
• Strictly follow sanitation, hygiene and food handling standards as per department of health and hygiene.
• Always uphold CHNY's mission, vision and principles, standards of conduct, policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned and needed.

• High School diploma/GED and Certificate in Food Protection preferred.
• One-year experience in the food services industry.
• Prior experience with cooking utensils and equipment preferred.
• Detail oriented and strong communication skills.
• Ability to operate the following machinery:
  Dishwasher, Floor scrubber, cleaning tools.
• Ability to carry heavy loads of food products and kitchen equipment.

The pay range for this role is: 17.63 - 17.63 USD per hour (41st ST - SHELTER)
