Overview
Under the general supervision, the concession cook is responsible for preparing food and assisting in the preparation of items during the event. The cook should understand the proper cooking and holding procedures to not sacrifice quality or freshness of product.
Responsibilities- Prepare and cook food items, such as hot dogs, burgers, fries, and other concession-style snacks, according to set recipes or guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cooking area, including countertops, grills, fryers, and food prep stations.
- Ensure food is cooked to proper temperature and served in a timely manner to customers.
- Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure sufficient supplies are available during service.
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation of food and equipment.
- Operate kitchen equipment, such as grills, slicers, fryers, ovens, and microwaves, ensuring they are used safely and efficiently.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing questions or concerns with a friendly and positive attitude.
- Assist with setting up, breaking down, and cleaning before and after shifts.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
