Client OverviewOur client is a national organization dedicated to youth development and empowerment, working with numerous local councils across the country to support and engage young people through research and program initiatives. They are currently looking to add a Research Assistant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate$25/hr - $28/hr DOE
Position OverviewReporting to the Director of Research, the Research Assistant will support the department s research activities. Responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of research projects, including participant recruitment, survey and interview protocol development, data analysis, and preparing findings for dissemination. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams and providing research support to local councils.
Responsibilities Of The Research Assistant- Support the development, management, and execution of research projects, including participant recruitment and survey administration.
- Assist with data entry, analysis, background research, and descriptive analytics.
- Organize and manage physical and digital research files and reports.
- Develop and distribute research findings and provide customer support related to reports.
- Review academic and industry literature for relevant context.
- Collaborate with the Research team to design communication strategies for presenting complex data to non-technical audiences.
- Minimum 2 years of experience supporting applied research and managing survey data collection.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional interaction and clear presentation of research findings.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret and narrate data insights.
- High attention to detail and follow-through.
- Quick learner with the ability to absorb new information.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience with statistical software such as SPSS, SAS, or R.
- Experience with web-based survey platforms, preferably Qualtrics.
- Ability to create tables, graphs, and charts in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse teams.
- Passion for research, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Graduate coursework or degree.
- Experience in youth development or social sciences, especially related to girls or youth.
- Experience with qualitative research methods, including focus groups, interviews, and open-ended survey analysis.
- Familiarity with data exploration and visualization tools.
- Experience with grant-related work.
- Bachelor s degree is required.
