Job Details
R&D Microbiology Lab Technician —
Location: Valhalla, NY |
Hours: Mon–Fri | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM |
Pay Rate: $30/hr
Join a fast-paced R&D Microbiology team and play a hands-on role in ensuring beverages and ingredients are safe, high-quality, and ready for release
. You’ll perform routine microbiology testing, support R&D studies, and keep lab operations running smoothly in a collaborative lab environment.
- Receive and prepare samples for microbiological testing
- Perform routine tests for bacteria, yeast, and mold
- Prepare culture media, reagents, and buffers
- Support special microbiology studies under R&D supervision
- Record and communicate test results to support product release decisions
- Maintain lab equipment, inventory, and cleanliness
- Follow lab safety, GLP, and quality standards
- Use digital lab systems (LIMS, SharePoint) for sample tracking and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science, or related field
- 1–3 years of hands-on microbiology lab experience (academic or industry)
- Strong aseptic technique and lab equipment operation skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well in a team
- Beverage or food microbiology testing experience
- Familiarity with LIMS or structured lab data systems
Autoclaves, incubators, biosafety cabinets, microscopes, colony counters, pH meters, balances, and standard lab PPE
Safety & ComplianceFollow EHS policies, GLP standards, and lab safety protocols, and complete required safety training.
