Stout is looking for a Market Research Specialist to support our firm’s rapid growth by supporting our market research capabilities. You will have high expectations and be empowered to share ideas and contribute as we help clients grow and gain strategic advantage through primary research. This is a hybrid position located in New York City.

• Provide primary research expertise to client engagement teams
• Design primary research including writing and reviewing surveys
• Execute research and develop insights to provide practical, value-add feedback to client teams
• Analyze large sets of market data using statistical tools and software
• Translate complex data into clear, actionable business insights and strategies
• Collaborate with consultants on primary research procedures
• Develop and sustain relationships with external research vendors
• Build web scrapers and other pipelines for alternative data sourcing
• Stay current on market research techniques
• Contribute to the continued improvement of products and services, including Stout’s ability to perform high-quality primary research
• Positively contribute to the dynamic, high-achieving atmosphere of the firm

• BA or BS required with focus on statistics, mathematics, data science, computer science, and/or economics with a track record of academic excellence
• Academic/internship experience in market research, preferably in a business, consulting, or professional services context
• Expertise in quantitative research methodologies and knowledge of qualitative research
• Experience with data management and manipulation, including working with large datasets
• Proficiency with Python, including data analysis libraries such as Pandas, Selenium, and Jupyter Lab
• Familiarity with market research skills, including cross tabs, frequencies, correlations, regressions, and practical understanding of conjoint/DCM, factor analysis, Max Diff, and Turf analyses, and predictive analytics
• Expert skill set in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint and Excel; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau and/or Power

• Ability to consolidate data findings into concise, actionable charts and/or presentations
• Active listening, strong attention to detail, work ethic, and follow-through
