Researcher; Book Publishing

Our client, a renowned philanthropic organization based in NYC, is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Researcher to assist in the development of a book by conducting in-depth research, fact-checking, and gathering relevant information. The ideal candidate will have strong investigative skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience in academic, historical, market, or industry research.

Rate: $25-40/hour

Office policy:
Onsite (Upper Manhattan)

• Conduct comprehensive research on topics related to the book’s subject matter
• Collect, analyze, and verify data from credible sources, including books, academic papers, journals, archives, and online resources
• Summarize findings and present them in an organized and concise manner
• Fact-check information to ensure accuracy and authenticity
• Organize research materials, citations, and references for easy access
• Collaborate with the author to refine content, suggest areas for further exploration, and provide critical insights
• Stay updated on current trends, developments, and relevant literature in the book’s subject area

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Journalism, Literature, Social Sciences, or a relevant field (preferred but not mandatory)
• Proven experience in research, academic writing, or editorial work
• Strong analytical and investigative skills with an eye for detail
• Familiarity with citation styles (APA, MLA, Chicago) and research methodologies
