Job DescriptionThe Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the Columbia University Medical Center emphasizes research that bridges the study of infectious microbes and host responses. The objective is to understand the molecular basis of infectious disease, with research focused on immunology, model systems, and pathogenesis.
ResponsibilitiesAssociate Research Scientist will lead a vibrant research program, mentor graduate students and postdocs, and actively participate in the department’s programs and activities. The role may oversee work of more junior research staff and direct the implementation of laboratory processes and protocols.
Requirements- PhD or MD, plus minimum of 3 years of postdoctoral research experience.
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
