Research Scientist, Data Scientist
Location: New York
A postdoctoral position is available in Professor David Pine’s research group in the Center for Soft Matter Research inthe Department of Physics at New York University. The project focuses on developing novel colloidal particles for the self-assembly of photonic crystals with diamond, zincblende, and other unconventional symmetries.
The successful candidate will design and implement new synthetic strategies to control colloidal architecture and interparticle interactions.
Experience with advanced colloidal synthesis and characterization methods is essential. Additional experience in patchy particle synthesis, polymer brush design, DNA-functionalized colloids, or advanced scattering and microscopy techniques is highly desirable.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. The Pine group offers a dynamic and highly collaborative research environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities for colloidal synthesis, imaging, and scattering

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500- $65,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
