Graduate Advisory Consultant:
Strategy and Policy
- New York (Summer 2026) role at Buro Happold
. Based in New York, our Advisory Strategy and Policy team works with a range of public and private sector clients to develop and implement innovative solutions for the built environment. As an Advisory Graduate, you will work on a mix of strategic planning and technical analysis projects, ranging across different scales, from regions and cities to the site level. This role provides technical data analysis and modeling support, to produce data visualization and spatial analysis graphics, and to contribute to the delivery of high-quality materials to our clients.
- Contribute to complex strategic planning projects, including economic development and revitalization, sustainability and climate action, and resilience plans
- Conduct analysis for comprehensive and economic development planning, including market and demographic research, cost-benefit analysis and scenario planning
- Execute analysis for climate action and adaptation planning, including greenhouse gas emissions modelling and climate vulnerability assessments
- Develop strong client communication and data visualization materials including PowerPoint presentations, memos, reports, and web-based dashboards
- Support the team in the pursuit of business development opportunities – market research, writing and production of formal proposals
- A degree in environmental sciences, urban planning, urban policy, real estate, or similar
- Analytical and strategic thinker
- Energetic, pro-active and collaborative
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Strong written and oral communications and presentation skills
- Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills and experience working with data sets
- Strong visual communication skills, including geospatial representation
- Interest or experience in climate action, the built environment, sustainability, and/or resilience
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Adobe Creative Suite
- GIS
- Statistical analysis (Python and/or R)
- Salary range of $77,000 to $80,000. This will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience
